Welcome to the Steven Katz page of shameless self promotion. Just to let you know, I rate writing this right up there with snaking a sewage line or a good root canal. I suppose this is a necessary element- telling you how wonderful and cool I am (but you already know that), so I'll do my best to really impress you. Here goes.
You know what? I changed my mind. I'm not really good at this sort of thing (could this be why most of you don't know who I am?) so I will keep it brief. Basically, I've been lucky. Or cursed. You tell me. But I've been able to make my living playing music my entire life, and that's a long time. While not always the most secure of professions, I love what I do and that's more than most people can say.
In a nutshell - I've received a bunch of awards, have songs in movies, and have performed with many incredible musicians. There, I did it. And for those of you who MUST know, I've included a partial list of some of the people I have been fortunate enough to play with. If anyone is REALLY interested in a more detailed account of what I've done, feel free to email me and maybe I'll respond if you say the magic word.
As you can see, I've taken a different approach to my website than what you might have expected. I want to have some fun with it, give you an insight into who I am, and I will not insult your intelligence by writing in the "third person" or by thinking that slick promo will sell product. When it comes down to it, what counts is the music. You either like it or you don't. That's alright with me. It's just my preference that you like mine.
